We all have known Bangkok for the ultimate shopping destination for girls and amazing relaxation massage destination for boys. Let me tell you that Bangkok is not all about these things, its much more… The city has attractive temples, dazzling palaces, street markets and malls where you can get lost into, historical places, colorful Chinatown and much more.
In this article I will share some places which I had visited on my 1st trip to Bangkok. I stayed there for 10 days and visited each and every place of Bangkok which was possible. These places are the best in my opinion which one should never miss else they will really regret.
6 Must Visit Places In Bangkok
Chao Phraya Cruise & River side
I went to the cruise the very first day of my visit. The cruise is an amazing experience as it covers the whole city by its shore. You have dinner, music and dance and I bet you will enjoy the 2 hour ride very much. You can see most of the city and hotels dazzling on the shore and it’s amazing to have that never forgettable view.
Wat Pho Or Reclining Buddha
One of the oldest tourist attractions in Bangkok is it’s oldest temple Wat Pho. The 46 meters long and 15 meters high gold plated Buddha is the center of attraction for tourists in Bangkok.
The Grand Palace
This is the official residence of the king of Thailand. It is considered to be a very sacred place and thus in all the temples there is a strict dress code. No sleeveless, no shorts and bare feet is compulsory. Visitors usually carry a stole with them here. This temple contains small Emerald Buddha’s from 14th century and so is the most visited temples in the country.
Floating market is one of the must visit places in Bangkok. It has a beautiful traditional floating market on the sides of Chang Pier river. You can enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables, do lot’s traditional Thai shopping.
What I experienced while shopping was to go to the government store there. It was the most affordable store with fixed rates. Other stalls did bargain but after non sense prices. It is always advisable to shop with a trusted vendor.
Siam Ocean World
Placed right in the heart of the city is Siam ocean world. An amazing underground aquarium which is the largest in the Southeast Asia. It has amazing ore than 30,000 sea creatures which you would not even imagine. You get under water walk, diving with the sharks and more there. This would an experience worth having.
Shopping Life At Bangkok
Bangkok caters amazing shopping destinations depending to your needs and types. If you ant wholesale rates then you could visit Chatuchak Weekend Market. If you want a street market then do visit Indira Market which is near the Siam Ocean World. You will need a whole day for this market. This market starts early in the morning at 7 and winds up by 6 in the evening.
If you are looking forward to go to malls then visiting MBK mall is the best option you have. You can find almost all range of products spread in different sections of this mall. This mall has many levels and you need atleast 3 days to cover all. MBK mall also has Mu- Thai Wrestling completions every Wednesdays in the evening. I suggest not to miss them.
Further you can enjoy Body massage, foot massage anywhere as they are spread all over the city. I have covered almost all the important thinks to visit Bangkok and Don’t forget to pack your bags without umbrella’s as it can rain anytime there…:)
